Drama Korea The Fugitive : Plan B menceritakan tentang Ji-Woo (diperankan oleh Bi / Rain), seorang penyelidik swasta Korea yang muda, kaya dan licik. Beberapa waktu yang lalu Ji Woo menangani kasus pasangan Asia yang meninggal di sebuah kasino di Las Vegas. Ji-woo memecahkan kasus ini hanya dalam waktu satu hari dan menyimpulkan sebagai kasus bunuh diri.
Akibatnya, Ji-woo menjadi detektif swasta pertama di dunia yang memecahkan kasus hanya dalam waktu 1 hari dan menerima sejumlah besar uang sebagai imbalan dari pemilik kasino, Wei (Ti Lung). Ji Woo pun menjadi terkenal di dunia penyidik swasta. Tak lama setelah kasus itu diselesaikan, sahabatnya yang berdarah Korea-Amerika, Kevin (Oh Ji-ho) menjadi korban pembunuhan. Polisi Korea mendapatkan beberapa bukti misterius yang mengarah ke Ji-Woo menjadi tersangka pembunuh Kevin. Ji-woo pun harus bertanggung jawab atas kematian Kevin. Oleh karena itu, Polisi Korea mengeluarkan surat perintah untuk menangkap Ji-woo. Tim dari Kepolisian ini dipimpin oleh Doo-Soo (diperankan oleh Lee Jeong-jin) ditunjuk untuk menangani kasus tersebut.
Setahun kemudian, Ji Woo didekati oleh seorang wanita bernama Jini / Jin Yi (diperankan oleh Lee Na Young). Jin Yi meminta Ji-woo untuk menemukan orang yang disebut Melchidec dan menawarkan 100.000.000 ₩ sebagai hadiah untuk memecahkan kasusnya.
Jin Yi percaya bahwa Melchidec adalah orang yang membunuh keluarganya dan ia adalah target berikutnya dari Melchidec. Jin Yi juga menyebut nama Kevin dan mengatakan bahwa dia tahu siapa yang membunuhnya. Tertarik dengan hal ini, Ji Woo mencoba untuk mencari tahu tentang informasi masa lalu dan latar belakang Jin Yi. Dia akhirnya mengetahui bahwa pasangan Asia yang meninggal di Las Vegas dulu adalah orangtua angkatnya Jin Yi (paman dan bibinya).
Kasus bunuh diri di Las Vegas itu diselesaikan oleh Ji Woo setahun yang lalu dan dia menyimpulkan itu sebagai kasus bunuh diri setelah menemukan catatan pesan bunuh diri di hotel tersebut. Jin Yi tahu bahwa Ji Woo akan berusaha keras untuk menyelesaikan kasus ini karena temannya Kevin juga telah menjadi korban dari Melchidec.
Awalnya, Jin Yi memilih Ji Woo untuk menyelesaikan kasusnya karena ia ingin membalas dendam padanya karena telah salah menyimpulkan kasus kematian kedua orang tua angkatnya sebagai kasus bunuh diri bukan pembunuhan. Sehingga, dia tidak peduli jika Ji-woo terluka atau terbunuh karena menyelidiki kasus ini. Jin Yi juga tahu kalau Ji Woo akan bekerja keras untuk kasus ini karena ia juga mencari siapa pembunuh temannya Kevin yang sebenarnya.

- Jini has experienced the world and pursued ambitious dreams. Since the day she found out she was adopted her life changes. Jini was adpoted by her uncle after the death of her parents. Then Jini's adoptive parents were killed. The only clue Jini has of the perpetrator is a mysterious figure named Melchidec. Jini believes Melchidec killed her foster parents and soon will kill her. She now approaches private detective Ji-Woo, who is was involved in her foster parents murder in Las Vegas. Kai is her first love interest whereas until later on she falls in love with Ji-woo.

- A detective. He comes from a poor background, so he works obsessively to have overachieve. Do-soo gets shot by Ji-woo and his pride is wounded. Moreover, he is passed over for a promotion.
- Yoon Jin Seo as Yoon So-ran
- A female detective working with Do-soo. So-ran is not skilled at martial arts, but stubbornly attempts to complete. She believes Do-soo's kindness to her is a sign of affection from him. So-ran never thinks that her affections for Do-soo might be one-sided. Her pressure to arrest Ji-woo makes Do-soo indifferent to her. Her efforts at chasing Do-soo is later rewarded.
